A Little Girl, Her Journey To Heaven, By Christy Beam
A Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven, and Her Amazing Story of Healing is a memoir written by an American author Christy Beam, released on April 14, 2015. The author wrote the book about her own sick daughter Annabel Beam. This book is a remarkable true story of faith and blessings, sharing the story of Christy’s young daughter Annabel, who was plagued by a chronic illness; of the trials she and the family endured while working towards a cure; of how this brave girl survived a dangerous accident and of Annabel’s visit to Heaven followed by the remarkable disappearance of the symptoms of Annabel’s chronic disease. The author of the book is Christy Wilson Beam.

SUMMARY

Christy and Kevin Beam were out of choices and options for her daughter Annabel. Annabel is suffering from two life threatening and painful illnesses and disease which is Pseudo- obstruction motility disorder and Antral Hypomotility Disorder which has no cure or any antidote can resolve. However, all things changed when Annabel decided to climb a tree. In December 2011, Annabel was playing outside with her sister at their backyard. They live in Burleson, Texas. Annabel was hanging of a delicate branch, when she suddenly dropped 30 feet through the hollow cottonwood tree. …show more content…
Yet, what happened there can defined as a miracle. Annabel was removed from the tree without any injury or damage.
Uncommonly, Annabel did not only survive the terrible fall without injury, her symptoms of her disorders incredibly vanished. It was mysteriously healed, the disease that had plagued her whole

    This chapter which introduced me to Lia’s family was interesting. I was shocked to read that in her mother’s country of Laos, Lia would have been born by her mother squatting on the floor! They also used special created remedies to solve health issues without relying on hospitals or clinics. It was also interesting to read how important the Hmong people believed in sprits and how their life decisions where decided around the sprit actions. For example, they believed that male sprit’s held up their house roof, if the male’s placenta was buried near the central pillar of the house. Lia was even blessed by the elders because her parents believed that it was a way of protecting her from ever getting sick. If anything, reading this chapter quickly gave me a quick preview of the clash that Lia’s cultural beliefs will have with the American doctors when she gets sick in the future chapters. However, I’m hoping that this book will pick up a little faster and have less history moving forward (being honest lol)…

    This painting is by Ellen Plankey, it is untitled and a pastel. For the purposes of this paper, I’ll call it “Young Girl on Blanket”. This is a picture of a young woman sitting on what appears to be a blanket. She’s looking off to her right and is wearing a dark blue skirt and a baby blue cloth around her head as a wrap. She’s topless, but how it’s shadowed only one of her breasts is very prominent; the other blurred by shadow. She’s surrounded by plants, all of which are leafy bushes. The sky in the back peeking through the leaves is a pale orange, almost a faded salmon color. The shadows on her body are splotched from the openings between the leaves. All of which is very soft. “Young Girl on Blanket” uses intermediate colors; soft shades of pink, blue, green and orange. All of the lines are curved in this, even the blankets edge ripples over what appears to be grass, which rounds the edge of it so that it doesn’t seem like a rectangle but instead a boxy oval.
