Personally, I’ve always felt I was a decent writer in all aspects regarding research and personal narratives. Considering those are subjects that interest me and that I love to read about. I struggle the most when it comes to making my writing hold a deeper or hidden message when the topics I am told to write about don’t interest me. Having to do rhetorical analysis with old literature and having to explain the main idea was my number one struggle in AP language and composition senior year. But other than that I felt, throughout high school, I enjoyed writing and taking a majority of the writing classes my school had to offer, not only because it was required but because it was something that teachers and myself felt I did acceptable work.…
I don't have much to say about writing for myself. Writing doesn't mean much to me. I am not a writer. I am an orator. However, writing does mean something to my wife. I love my wife. She loves to write. She spends hours a day writing. I watch words flow from her fingertips as she writes page after page. She doesn't let me read much of what she writes, but when she does, I can see the passion and the joy that she has for what she writes about. I wish that I could write with such a fire.…
Many people, when tasked with an essay, will groan and procrastinate. However, in my case, I rather have that assignment over anything else. I love to explain things, why I know them to be true, and how they work. Additionally, I enjoy journaling about my day to day experiences, fleshing out how I could better myself and handle problems differently. I see writing as a creative outlet — not a task to be checked off. Although I loved a good book when I was little, my recent love for literature springs from my experiences this past school year in AP Language and Composition. I took this class a year early in order to participate in AP Capstone. I enjoyed getting to explore and discover the true meaning behind the words they wrote.…
Writing is the way to interpret your thoughts or even your own self, wither you writing in college or personally and professionally. The way you write and express your thoughts and ideas, will reflect on all your life aspects, and the better ones writing is the clearer the image and the idea or the impression it will leave on others and readers.…
Everyone writes for different reasons. Writing allows us to tell a story through our own perspective. It allows us to pour all our thoughts and emotions into something that we otherwise might not speak about. Writing can spark ideas and memories we have and draw them out to be put into words on paper. It exercises our mind and our way of thinking. When you write you say what you mean. Some people use writing as an outlet, a way to express themselves or relieve stress and anxiety. It can be used for any purpose. Elie Wiesel uses his experience in the holocaust in a lot of his writing. He feels that he must be the one to tell the story of the victims, the ones who can’t tell it for themselves. As a survivor he is responsible for never letting anyone forget about it. I like to write about something I feel strongly about, something that makes me happy or makes me think, someone or something that has influenced me in different ways. For instance, when I visited Ireland a few years ago, the experience I had there is something I care so much about and it has affected me to such an extent that I want to write about it. The people in my life and the experiences I have had are topics that make me excited to write about.…

I am writing this quick letter to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my accomplishments and aspirations as a writer. I won't say that writing is in my blood or my genes or anything like that, but I will say that I do have an insatiable urge to write. I cannot say, but I definitely feel that writing is a passion of mine that I greatly enjoy. It is an urge that can only be satisfied and, even then, only temporarily, by stringing words together into a narrative. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy writing, although I do not consider myself to be stellar at it; I would call it a passion more than anything else.…
Writing will be in my life forever. Short-term wise it will help me in high school and also while I’m taking college classes in high school. Long-term wise it will help me in a couple years in college. I plan on having about 8 years of college so it will really help me through…
Authors do not always have to be people who write best-selling books or have published news articles; they don’t even have to write something at all. Painters, chefs, and musicians can all author compositions. An author, as described by the textbook, Everyone’s An Author, is someone whose piece can be viewed by a large group of people and critiqued by anyone. This critique is a result of rhetoric. Rhetoric, “language that is intended to influence people,” helps the author’s audience understand their perspective of a certain topic (Ethos). In a song by The Wonder Years, “Teenage Parents,” “Soupy,” the singer/songwriter of the album, tries to influence his listeners to overcome what may seem like an expected outcome for their life. Dan “Soupy” Campbell is authoring this piece by using the three rhetorical appeals of logos, pathos and ethos.…
Some of my strengths as a writer is that I am very creative. Once I have a topic in mind I can write a good story. I could also go on for hours typing up a story. Sometimes a writing assignment is so interesting to me I just do not want to stop writing and discussing it. Another strength of mine is that I am very good at research papers. I have always loved to learn about new topics. This has always been fun for me to do especially…

As an immigrant person who was raised overseas, the language barrier was my biggest challenge that I have faced in my life. As a child, I grew up learning Arabic and French as my second language. I have always loved to write in my native language. I loved how I can express myself and my feelings without even saying them out loud. “But, can I still do this?” a question that was always driving me hazy. A new language means…
