On March 5, 1731, Mission San Francisco de la Espada was established along this bank of the San Antonio River. Here the Spaniards took in the Coahuiltecan, a group of hunter and gatherers. The Spaniards attempted to convert them to Catholicism. They were also taught the ways of the Spanish. By the mid 1700s it was a working Spanish community.…

There are many factors affecting the health of this community. I believe lack of health education and access to health care are the primary problems. The problems of pinworms and anemia are most preventable with hygiene education and nutritional education. The high premature births and neonatal death rate can be addressed with pre-natal education and care.…
The breakdown of change request, check-in and check-out times proposes that all three of these activities has a large amount of potential for being able to improve the actual time that it takes to provide the customers in regards to checking-in and checking-out as well as any changes request that are extremely above the standards that has been set forth via the hotel. According to the study it has suggested that the difference of the actual time in association with the targeted time is the uppermost for the change request and then pursued by the check-in as well as the check-out time. The manager that is in charge of the hotel must consequently make sure that they center all of their attention on bettering their change request as a major concern trailed by the check-in and check-out time. The manager in charge of the hotel must also accept the six sigma methodology in bettering their check-in as well as their check-out time; this will be a main focal point for presenting a very satisfying customer experience to the hotel by means of a time study for lowering crucial bottlenecks that are disturbing customer experiences.…
Have you ever wondered how human behaviour affects the economy? Some might say that human behaviour has everything to do with the Economy. For a moment, let’s talk about Kale. The green leafy product that looks a little likes lettuce. It was virtually unheard of in the everyday diet of Canadians. Then, because of recent health trends and discoveries about kale’s health benefits, it suddenly became a hot commodity. Demand rose and prices aligned accordingly.…
The first article I read was called “Plutocrats Despising the Poor: An American Tradition.” A part of the article talks about how millionaires and billionaires are basically telling the middle class and poor should just suck it up and that the 99 percent should stop “envying” the rich and start “emulating” them. Also that we should be glad we don’t live in China or India where people are making 30,00 and in my opinion even people in America only make that much for example some teachers only make 40,000 a year and that’s with a four year degree. As quoted in the article “And most of all they should stop annoying their "betters" with demands for "handouts" like unemployment insurance, food stamps, and other "entitlements." They also talk about how we're forced to endure over the public airwaves the whining and moaning of billionaires and millionaires who believe working people are not bending at the knee to them enough or doing so without the level of devotion. In January Tom Perkins sent a letter into the wall street journal comparing working people’s concern about inequality to the Nazis singling out the Jews for persecution at the time of Kristallnacht, but later did he take back that statement but he did stay true to the message he was trying to send out although Sam Zell did agree with his statement and had defended Perkins. The second article is called “If Obama is such a socialist, then why are government jobs disappearing?” Throughout the past four years Obama has created roughly 8.5 million dollars yet well the labor market has turned around public employment has decreased. “For all the talk on the right about how President Obama is a closet socialist bent on ballooning the government, jobs at the state, local, and federal levels have steadily dried up since Obama took office.” So this leads to the question what is happening and why hasn’t Obama done anything to fix this issue at hand. The article also talks about how public sector employment has fallen…
The Chocolate City is a documentary that attempts to take on the complex issue of gentrification. The documentary presents the point of view of the residents being gentrified out. These residents were pushed out of their neighborhood in Washington D.C for the purpose of re-developing the area where they lived; leaving them with no way of coming back. This is happening so close to the white house, it can be said that it is happening right at their door steps, and yet the government has not done anything to help the residents. This video gave me another perspective beyond the text book's take on gentrification because it allowed me to connect and feel for the families that lost their home and community.…

In most cities the downtown area is usually referred to as the heart of the city. And in Los Angeles the downtown area can be described as such. But just like a human being with a serious case of a Cardiovascular disease is the same fate of Downtown Los Angeles. Here in this case, instead of cholesterol clogging up the arteries and veins, we have homeless people and rundown building clogging up the streets of Downtown Los Angeles. However, just like a heart patient that requires an open heart surgery, so is Downtown Los Angeles whose version of this is called the “Revitalization of Downtown Los Angeles”.…

This is the reason why the University of Batangas and the Municipality of San Juan should work hand in hand so that a dream for greatness may be achieved.…
