conclusion of if that narrator is honest and trustworthily and that’s one of the reasons why I think he is. This story is told in a different way then your traditional novel. This book just goes back and fourth in conversation between all the characters. “ Its not even certain he’s alive. Five years back, a magazine reporter got a scoop of implicating him in some shady investment deals, but the story never saw the light of day”(Murakami 67). Murakami tells this story in such a way to help his readers understand his story better. With the characters going back and fourth it’s a lot easier to tell whose who when they are speaking. He also tells this story through a first person view to hopefully get the readers more involved. There are plenty of examples of how this narrator is trustworthy throughout this novel.
“The details were drawn with great care. Moreover, the sheep in the photograph and the sheep in the drawing were without a doubt the same sheep”(Murakami 132). I found this part to show how you can trust the narrator. Someone who wasn’t there wouldn’t know all the details about the picture that the man showed him. The narrator goes into great detail the lengths that he goes to find the sheep in the picture. This is why I found this part to be a very important part in the novel. A Wild Sheep Chase is a very interesting story that keeps you intrigued throughout the first part of it so far. As my thoughts stated above I think this story was written in a first person narration. I also think that the narrator is a trustworthy person on how munches detail that he goes into through the story. The author also uses this type of writing to help its readers understand the thoughts of its characters and understand the meanings of the novel. This is why I think Haruki Murakami tells this story in the way he
does.
