Program planning is a process to achieve a particular goal and/or mission. Program planning is an organized process through which a set of coordinated activities or interventions is developed to address and facilitate change in some or all of the identified problems. Program evaluation provides useful information for improving the programs and the service delivery systems. Program evaluation is to improve the program planning, effectiveness, design, and efficiency. The two are different processes, but ideally they hold the same goals and/or mission. The evaluation process takes place after the planning of a program is complete. The plan will be evaluated for its effectiveness and efficiency. The evaluation can also take place after a program planning has been established and was once evaluated before. The purpose of program evaluation is to review and enhance the implementation and outcomes of a service or program. It is best for a program plan to be evaluated often for its effectiveness over the years. Society changes often, so the program planning will have to change as well. Program planning and evaluation is what makes the program and its services effective. This is what will make them achieve their particular goal and/or mission.…

The third question Identify technical and political aspects of program planning and evaluation you might encounter in the program scenario you chose, and explain how these aspects could affect your planning and evaluation process. I my opinion the technical aspect of program planning would be having qualified counselor in place. To talk to the victim to find out what the victim needs is and what area does the victim need help in such as housing, help with child care needs and education. The political aspect of it would be going to congress fighting for laws against domestic violence making the abuser take full responsibility of their action. Issue that could affect planning of domestic violence program is there housing or a safe house for the victim trying to get out or away from and abuser such as a victim protection plan. The next questions will the victim stay in the program or go back to the abuser. Other…
Federalism is the concept where the power to govern is shared between the central governing unit and the constituent political units, and in the United States, this is the United States government and the States of the Union. This article from the Huffington Post describes the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT, passed approximately ten years ago, which was an attempt by the federal government to improve the failing education system in the United States. Each state had different standards to what they were measuring their students to. The idea of this act was to establish a baseline and start to improve it. This Act provides funding to the states with the intention of providing fair and equal opportunity to a high quality education. In reality,…
Yuen/Terao (2003) states, “Program planning is an organized process through which a set of coordinated activities or interventions is developed to address and facilitate change in some or all of the identified problems.” “Program Evaluation is the application of different social research designs in assessing the needs and results of programs.” In short, Program Planning and Program Evaluation is the process of assessing needs, organizing an effective ways and means to meet the needs, examining the process throughout, making sure that the end result brings about a change for the affected population targeted. These components are related in that they both address the need of the identified problems and according to Yuen/Terao (2003) which quotes Mika, 1996, they are not separate as much as program planning and evaluation, when planned properly can be integrated into an organized set of ongoing operations that promote and support each other.…

The Santa Rosa Philharmonic Youth Symphony (SRPYS) is an organization which supports young people who love music, encourages quality musicianship, and advanced leadership skills through their program. Local elementary and middle schools have had to cut the music programs from their curriculum; parents, students, and community members are concerned that this lack of support from the education community will discourage talented individuals. SRPYS is an organization which has developed plans to educate and advance the skills of young musicians. Their program planning and evaluation techniques are established, but always open to change as the students and musical tastes vary from year to year.…

Education has always been one of the most important things to me, and I am dedicated to learn as much as humanly possible. Throughout my high school career I have challenged myself by completing six advanced placement classes and taking other honors classes. I have taken these classes as a way to help guide myself for what is to come in the future in college. I was inducted into the National Honors Society during my junior year of high school, and I graduated with honors. Both of these successes are the two greatest accomplishments of my high school career. These two achievements prove how dedicated I was, and still am, to getting the best education I could. My quality of dedication will stick with me throughout my future endeavors.…
