7.1 Inkwell Limited (IWL) is an Limited Company in the private sector, which provides a complete range of remanufactured inkjet and laser toner cartridges.

7.2 The company was founded seven years ago by Paul Farnon & Victoria Dawson. Inkwell Lld head office is in based on an Industrial Estate in Birmingham, where the management and accounts department are based, the company’s online shop and the company’s large central warehouse also. The company distributes its products to the public through a chain of 60 Nationwide High street shops, which are in most major UK towns and cities and the aforementioned online shop. The company employs 180 full time-equivalent members and generates revenue of over 16 million.

7.3 The company is owned by its three stakeholders who own 100% of the shares collectively. Paul Fernon, Managing Director owns the largest share with 40%, and the other two directors each own a 30% each.

7.4 The Company mission statement is to save customers money without compromising quality, and to help provide a greener environmental future through better use of toners and cartridges. Inkwell encouraged customers to recycle their post/physically bring in used cartridges, and they will receive 10% discount on a replacement.

7.5 Inkwell Ltd adopts a hierarchal or ‘tall’ structure (see appendix). A hierarchy is a series of level of people, which each level control by the level above it. This type of organisational structure is typical for a large company, where accounting systems are responsibility of the finance director, centralised, and strictly controlled.

7.6 Inwell’s Ltd has three directors, a Managing Director, Sales Director and Finance Director. All three make management decisions. Anil Gupta, Finance director has overall responsibility to

    Sandwell Paper Company is a large paper wholesaler, which ties its roots to Omaha, Nebraska in the 1980s. The firm started in sales and distribution to its consumers and bought its paper from other wholesalers.     Tesco is a hierarchical structure because it has a lot of layers and also a lot of people reporting into more than one person before that information get to the boss. A hierarchical structure has many levels. Each level is controlled by one person. A hierarchical company tends to be a very big, like Tesco is.
