First, the surgeon makes a long incision from hipbone to hipbone, then a second incision in order to free the navel from the surrounding tissue. The incision is much shorter with a mini tummy tuck. Next, the surgeon will separate your skin from the abdominal wall, lifting a large skin flap to reveal the vertical muscles along your abdomen. These muscles are pulled closer together in order to tighten them, and they are stitched into the new position to provide a narrower waistline and a firmer abdominal wall. Next, the skin flap is stretched down over the stomach, removing the extra skin. A new hole is cut for your navel which is then stitched into its place. The incisions are stitched and dressings are applied at the end, and a temporary tube is sometimes affixed in order to drain any excess fluid that may try to build up in the surgical
