Abnormal Psychology: Rodger's Case
Rodger is of German, Irish, and Native American descent. The client is the oldest child of two. Rodger grew up in Manassas and lived in low-income housing with his mother. The client's father would "come whenever he felt like it, he would stay and sell drugs in the neighborhood." Rodger's mother left his father when he was 5 years old because of his father's drug use. When the client was 8 years old, he moved to Centreville, Virginia when his mother moved-in with his stepfather. When the client was 12 years old, the family moved to Orange County, Virginia. The client did not like the area because "I needed to be around people" and decided to live with his aunt at age 13. The client started experimenting with drugs when he lived with his aunt. Rodger had his 1st child at age 14. Rodger decided to dropped out of high school to work so that he can support his child financially. The client currently has 5 children now. …show more content…
The client has a good relationship with his mother "unless I am using. We are best friends, I tell her everything." The client's mother was a stay-at-home mom. "My stepdad took care of her." The client's stepfather worked as an excavator. The client's mother's side of the family does not abuse

    D-Client arrived on time for his scheduled appt. with this writer. The client was alert and engaging throughout the session. During the course of the one hour session, he was aware about completing his first initial tx plan, at which he was open to discuss and complete. The client reported that he participated at HOI prior – 15 years ago for heroin. He relapses in 2009 due to his liver transplant surgery in December of 2008.
