Abolish English Class

South Carolina Board of Education, may you adhere to our request to abolish English class beyond grade eight. Past this point, English class has been a student’s time-sink. Once a person finishes middle school, the subject in itself provides no value to students. English class would no longer dissipate precious time if students were to declare independence from it. English class is a misapplication of time once a student passes middle school. Students aren’t learning much in English class. All that has occurred in English class is the reading and analyzing of stories, writing, book reports, and reading plays. These meticulous, tedious activities have been as redundant as a stutter. Students are aware that English used to teach students new information yearly, however schools have changed, therefore English class no longer serves its original service to students.
Just imagine a great, sunny day being ruined because of English class. Often times, English class are not seen in their true forms… they are viewed as a fun class because it is easy. However, not challenging students are a dis-service. Therefore students should declare independence from it, as stated in passing documents by “Psych Central”, one should declare independence from anything that doesn’t promote their personal well-being. (MS, 2015) Therefore, it is called into action that declaring independence from English class post middle school would be to a student’s advantage.
