Abortion has been a topic of discussion for decades, whether or not it should be legal. I, myself feel that it should be legal, for various reasons. My main reason is that, I have had one before and I feel that no one should intervene on a woman’s personal decision on bringing forth a child in the world. Society plays its part in many of things but I honestly believe this is one topic they should let go because what a woman does to her body is that woman’s decision. “The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association (AMA) stated in their article brief filed on December 19, 2013 in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in support of Planned Parenthoods Challenge to Texas House Bill (HB) (AMA, 2013) The American Medical Association quoted “We oppose legislative interference with the practice of medicine and a woman’s relationship with her doctor. (2013) Although some or even most people would think of abortion as murder or perhaps pre-meditated murder, I merely say, who are we as a society to judge any woman for her decision that will reflect her life. Most women have great reasons for terminating a pregnancy that people in general may not ever relate too. For instance, a lot of abortion decisions may derive from lack of wealth or complicated high risks birth. A lot of women tend to get abortions also when they have been raped or molested. According to Randy “Since the Supreme Court’s sweeping Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973 overturned hundreds of laws in states across the country more than 55 million unborn children have lost their lives to abortion. “(Hultgren, 2014) Another fact Randy mentioned is “when we tell one another that abortion is okay, we reinforce the idea that human lives are disposable, that we can throw away anything or anyone that inconveniences us.” (Hultgren, 2014)
