To Abort or Not to Abort The great debate about abortion is ever raging in today’s society. Each opposing side believes that their choice is the correct one. Supporters of the pro-choice believe that the woman has a right to terminate her pregnancy no matter the circumstance. Pro-life advocates argue that the baby’s life is the most important thing. Abortion is murder, no matter what stage of pregnancy you are in. The only reason a woman should have the choice, is if her life is in danger or other special circumstances. From the time of conception, the embryo is a person. Most pro-choice advocates do not believe it is until the second trimester. They believe it is just a mass of cells or tissue. is a human, an underdeveloped one, but nonetheless a human. Since the fetus has no way of defending itself we must stand up and speak on its behalf. After conception, there is not one event that occurs that tells us it just became a human. Just like a newborn baby, teenager, and adult, we are all in different stages, but still alive. Killing and adult or child is the same as killing an unborn baby, it is murder and no less justifiable, yet people are considered innocent when they ‘accidently’ became pregnant. Abortion is murder and should be prohibited all over the world, unless there is a situation that is a life and death for either the unborn child or the mother. The pro-choice supporters believe that the mother’s rights are being denied by telling her she cannot abort her fetus, but isn’t it the fetus’s rights that are being taken away? If a person has control over what happens to their bodies, the fetus should as well. They should have the right not to be killed. Unfortunately, they can’t speak for themselves and everyday woman are killing innocent children. If the women do not want a child, they should take the proper precautions to avoid becoming pregnant against their will. Murdering an innocent child because they were too careless to begin with is unjustifiable. Many people have their own religious beliefs, what is right and wrong, and what is moral and immoral. Abortion, even without religion involved, is wrong and immoral. Many women find it morally acceptable just because the law does not prohibit it. There are many couples who would be more than willing to accept the baby as their own, if the mother chose not to kill it. Slavery was once legal in America, even though it is not moral. Certain states in the US have the death penalty for killing someone, whether they are innocent or not. Now we just tell women who choose not to be pregnant it is ok to kill an innocent child because the mother chose not to use protection. Abortion is monstrous and should be illegal everywhere with very finite exceptions. The killing of innocent people, even in the womb, should be treated equally. The right of a life should be extended to the unborn children. As long as we give the pro-choice the advantages to the laws, babies will continue to be murdered. It’s time to take a stand and defend the innocent children who can’t speak for themselves.
