Abortion Should Be Illegal Because ..
Melissa Aguirre
Mrs. Hargrave
English 9 Honors, Period 1
17 November 2011 The Unwanted Everyone is raised knowing the difference between right and wrong. Murder is wrong, so why isn’t abortion wrong? People will always have a different opinion on abortion because it’s a controversial issue. I truly believe that abortion is immoral and despicable; it is ultimately murder. Therefore, it should be illegal. This is outrageous! There are masses of reasons why it should be against the law. First of all, it should be illegal because it’s ending a life, the child doesn’t have a choice, and women then feel regret afterwards. To begin with, of course it’s ending a life. An abortion stops the growing process, thus ending the future life of a human being. Inside the mother the cells are still dividing and allowing the baby to grow. Over a million surgical abortions have happened since 1973 and numerous women have died. Don’t you think that’s ending a life and wasting a gift from God? A comprehensive study in Finland found that women were four times more likely to die in the year following an abortion than in the year following in birth. Another reason why it should be illegal is because the child doesn’t have a choice. Children can’t and don’t ask to be born; only adults can make that judgment. The baby doesn’t even have a possible way to defend themselves. During the abortion, they are probably just screaming “help” but all they can do is just watch while they’re being killed. “I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born.” -Ronald Reagan. The quote is something I agree on because you ask someone whether they go for abortion; obviously they have already been born so they don’t know what it’s like to be the one to be aborted by someone who doesn’t want you. One more reason why it should be illegal is that many woman that has gone through an abortion feel regret. This is a safety hazard; they will go through depression and maybe

Abortion is murder of an innocent life, and it is completely wrong in every way. There is no justification that could cover the fact that we are murdering our most defenseless human beings, and if anything we should be doing everything to protect them and keep them safe from danger, but yet some are doing the complete opposite. Abortion should never be an option, and one should never feel like abortion is the only choice because it is not the only choice. One must understand that abortion is not just, and people must come to their senses and realize the true outcomes of aborting a…

First and foremost, abortion allows a woman the right to her own body. Some say that abortion should not be used as a form of contraception, but birth control fails daily. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 6% of all birth controls fail each year. Women on birth control tend to disregard the chance of getting pregnant since the percentage is so low, therefore, the only protection they choose to utilize is the birth control. Women should remain to have the option to abort an undesired fetus. Along with contraception issues, there are other factors to reason with to keep abortion legal.…

When a baby is aborted it is still in the process to be a fetus. The baby is tissue in the uterus, which means that the avoid would not feel any pain. Taking away the right for women to have the option of abortion would lead to more deaths because women would seek illegal abortions. In countries outside of the US, the cause of woman's death is 13% from getting illegal abortions. Before abortions were legal in the US, 265 deaths occurred in the year of 1965 because of illegal abortions. Abortions are against religions, but in US God and state are separate so there should be no religion influencing people's stance on abortion. Abortion needs to stay legal to save women's lives mentally, physically, and…
