ABS CBN review
ABS-CBN
Before we proceed on analyzing management style of ABS CBN lets brief the early beginnings of the company. Back in the 50’s ABS-CBN is merged from two networks, James Lindenberg’s Alto Broadcasting Systems and Lopezes’ Chronicles Broadcasting Network.

But later was closed due to the declaration of Martial law in 1972. In 1986, ABS CBN Reopened and launched DZMM RADYO PATROL during the Edsa Revolution. ABS CBN is now a major Filipino television network that continues to produce world class news and entertainment programs not only in the Philippines but globally.

In the book “Kapitan : Geny Lopez and the Making of ABS-CBN” by the late author Raul Rodgrigo he pointed out Geny Lopez’s philosophy and management style for the network. He said that through it all, the most about handling a company is not about getting all the benefits and profits, but the chance to apply his values. His passion to compete is what made in launching and innovate programs, discovering fresh talents and initiating new risk on ventures.

Geny Lopez has the determination to make it through, he sacrifices his time, his efforts and yes even his money to makes it way to be the number one network in the country.

Multiple ways and style in managing his employees is truthfulness,
He demands honestly to his employees in solving problems and controlling the situation, without it it will not do any good as an individual, it will lose trust and value to the company. Geny Lopez reflects his image and his values to the company, how can the customers trust the company when the company itself is not truthful of his word “in the service of the Filipinos”.

When he was about to start rebuilding ABS CBN, he once said “to be able to be number one, you have to get the number one people” because the people who first joined ABS CBN was not well trained and the jobs were not suited in their forte, and so he came knocking on to his former employees that made the company rose up quickly
