• Ethics across society may differ vastly and they are influenced by religion, politics, environment and other social factors
• Early Civilizations have evolved individually. There were geographically too far away from each other to influence each other’s culture.

• It’s because of Relativity that evolution is possible. If things were absolute we would still be stuck in Stone Age.

• Absolutism is making normative ethical decisions based on objective rules. It maintains that some things are always right and some things are always wrong. They are fixed for all time, places and people.
Examples of Relativity in Civilizations:
• Woman in some of the Islamic countries of Middle East don't have equal rights. They have to wear clothes that hide their face. In some of these countries they can't drive a car. On the contrary in most of the European & American countries woman have equal rights. This world co-exists because the West understands that the Islamic countries have to follow Islamic law and the Islamic countries understand that West is liberal.
• Its common in Asian countries for two or three generations to live together in the same house whereas in USA children generally move out of their parents after their high school. Both have different reasons that are equally valid.
• Most of the societies are sensitive towards animal cruelty but in the same world several animals are sacrifices as religious offering.
