Today, I am a graduate of CUNY Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Operations Management. Although undeniably rewarding, the road to graduation was, to say the least, strenuous. When I began the pursuit of an undergraduate degree, I was determined on becoming an accountant. However, instead of solidifying my interest in this major, the demanding curriculum along with being employed full time took a toll on my GPA. As a result, I came to the realization that…
This article displays careers available to accountant majors. It lists steps to take while job searching. Although it was not exactly what I was looking for it still answered many questions I had about what came after graduation.…
After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…
When it comes to my education my short-term goal is to finish out this school year and maintain my current GPA. I find it easier to motivate myself each day if I have set in stone grade goals in mind. My long-term education goal is to finish my Associate of Applied Business degree in spring 2017 and my Associate of Arts degree in spring of 2018. I have enough classes and credit hours to finish a second associate degree in two part-time semesters. My short term career goal is to continue where I am until I graduate and learn as much as I can from those around me. I find that the people around me at my current jobs are very intelligent and it would be wasteful of me to not learn what I can from them before I move on. My long-term career goal…

I want to complete school and have a degree. I want to know that I can achieve my dream of graduating from college. I realize that I am never to old to reach my goals. I want to go back and graduate so I can say that I am a college…
Pursuing a master’s degree is a responsibility I owe to myself as well as a commitment I have to others. I call it a responsibility because I have an enthusiastic outlook on life, which makes me relentlessly find and pursue the things I want to achieve. I call it a commitment because I want to be an illustration to others of what hard work and dedication can achieve.…
My immediate short-term career goal would be to pass all four parts of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Successfully passing this exam, along with meeting the educational and work experience requirements, is the only way to make the rest of my career goals possible. Ideally, I will begin work for one of the “Big four” accounting firms (Ernst and Young, Deloitte, PWC, or KPMG) to gain the extensive knowledge I need in the field of audit to be successful in my long-term goals.…

This year I experienced some major life changes that caused me to re-evaluate my life. I finalized a lengthy divorce proceeding; I lost my job, and I moved to San Diego, California. These events may have caused some people to feel hopeless, but they motivated me to make some life changes. I enrolled in the BSBA program with a concentration in accounting at Walden University in order to finish the degree I started 8 years ago. I have learned that goal setting is important in order to achieve success in life. For me to attain the future that I see for myself and my family, I set academic and personal goals. In this essay, I will discuss my academic goals and my personal goals. I will also discuss how these goals connect to my degree program. My academic goals are significant to the achievement of some of my personal goals. One personal goal is to start my own accounting firm for small business owners. Before I can achieve that objective, I need to focus on my academic goals.…
