Accountability Of A HR Sergeant
Imagine the rhythm of your heartbeat. It’s the most important organ and pumps blood and nutrients to other essential parts of the body. The role of a Human Resource (HR) Sergeant is quite similar. Without this profession certain operations cannot function. Regulations, policies, and doctrinal literature are pushed down from higher from the Human Resources Command (HRC) (AR 600-8). A HR Sergeant maintains the Army’s personnel accountability, and strength management. Another important role is to provide support to units in peacetime and wartime environments. A HR Sergeant must also train and provide information to maintain effectiveness. Human Resources is the heart of Army operations. Maintaining accountability is a critical role for a HR Sergeant. This includes delivering replacements, utilizing personnel properly, and sending accurate accountably reports to higher echelons (AR 600-8). Missions are dependent on the amount of personnel and strength management. Distributing personnel can in the form of a permanent change of station (PCS), sending soldiers to other locations temporary as well as administering separation from the Army. Accountability also helps other areas such as the Plans and Operations department identify their needs and support operations. Synchronization is vital and Human …show more content…
A HR Sergeant must be hands on, and active in this process. Soldiers are expected to deploy at any given time to dangerous locations, in harsh conditions. Support of operations doesn’t stop at the peacetime operations. A HR Sergeant must be capable of relocating to provide services, and support for large and small unit elements. This includes but not limited to record updates, finance services, personnel and finance records review, and tracking training documents.
