Title: ACC471— Accounting Information System
Instructor:Dr. Iaad Sartawi
Class Time: Section (1) – 8:00-9:00 Sunday, Tuesday, & Thursday. Section (2) – 10:00-11:00 Sunday, Tuesday, & Thursday. Section (3) – 8:00-9:30 Monday & Wednesday.

Credit Hours: 3 Credit hours.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course is designed to provide students with concepts related to analyzing, designing, using, improving and controlling of effective accounting information systems, application to computers.

SPECIFIC COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Develop an awareness of recent developments in AIS technology. 2. Understand basic system concepts and the role of AIS in achieving organizational objectives, and improving planning and control in an organization. 3. Identify the tools and techniques for system analysis, documentation and design. 4. Understand the accountant role in the devolopment of AIS. 5. Gain skills on analyzing and reporting on internal control systems. 6. Gain experience working successfully in group settings.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
After completing this course the student must demonstrate the knowledge and ability to: 1. Know what accounting information system is? the basic functions it performs, why studying AIS, AIS role in a company's value chain, and the basic strategic positions a business can adopt. 2. Descripe the documents and procedures used in AIS to collect and process transaction data. 3. Discuss types of information systems. 4. Describe basic
