Although every university has different rules, some will consider students who have taken a minimum of 15 credits through an accredited school to be assessed similarly as incoming freshmen.

To avoid the extra challenges when applying to college, consider an "accredited" homeschool option or search for colleges that are considered "home-school friendly.” Contact the admissions office to find out what they're expecting from homeschoolers and plan ahead to allow the student to be prepared to compete with all the other candidates. In Florida, it is a requirement to take the end of course test (EOC) for Algebra I, Biology, and American History. Tests are added to the list every year, consequently check with the school board to find out which tests are required. The tests are multiple choice and 3 hours long. These schools also offer "AP" Advanced Placement and honors courses which are a benefit in getting into a respectable university. Universities prefer students who have challenged themselves with rigorous study in a range of academic areas during their high school years.
