I prefer to look for desktop, with big screen, high speed, and lots of storage. I checked the Future shop and gave me these:
Intel Core 17-3770 Processor, 12 GB RAM, 2 TB HDD, AMD Radeon DHD 7570 graphics, 2GB GDDR3 dedicated graphics memory, Wi-Fi, 4 USB 3.0 ports. The cost is less than 900.00, with out the monitor.
Another from Futureshop: ASUS 27” Touchscreen All-in-one PC, Intel Core i7 3770S, 3.1 GHz speed, 1TB, 8GB RAM, Windows 8, 6X Blu-ray Combo, NVIDIA GeForce GT-640M, 1 GB video memory, Touchscreen, 2 MP webcam. Cost 1,712.20. A bit expensive but very wholesome and entertaining too.
Futureshop and Bestbuy usually offer the same products at the same price.

2. Differences between Cable, DSL, 3G/4G and LTE internet.
DSL - is faster than dial-up, using an ordinary telephone line and external modem. Data speed 1.5 Mbps up to 7 Mbps. With a line mostly dedicated to the user, sometimes faster than cable internet.
Cable – No phone line needed only cable modem. 3Mbps to 30 Mbps. Cable is shared with the entire neighborhood; the more people use the cable, the slower it gets for all of them.
3G - is the wireless network standard in the 3G Phone. It is called 3G because it is third generation of cellular telecom standards. It is a faster network for phone and data transmission. 14.4Mbit download. 5.8 Mbit upload. This may not be true. It also depends on the location and the technology
