It is said that, “small slights were made out to be witchcraft,” and “others had hidden motives for accusing their neighbors” (The Crucible- Witch Trials NP). Similarly, people have the eyes of a hawk in Salem, so whatever happens, there is always someone who knows and they spread like wildfires.
Presently, those suspected of witchcraft often confessed to save themselves of more trouble by naming people who may be involved with witchcraft. Marilynne Roach once said, “In general, however, an assortment of characteristics could get a person accused of witchcraft” (Roach 9 Reasons You Might Have Been Suspected of Witchcraft in 1692). Truly, the personal attributes of oneself attract other people and if it does not satisfy the, they find a way to make one stand out by insulting or accusing them.
Innocent people we accused of witchcraft for reasons such as: people did not have anything better to do besides blame others, Abigail Williams lied about other people being involved with witchcraft, and the majority of the accused were women. The majority of the accused were guilty, although they would hate to admit it. All in all, the witch trials were something many people do not look back on, as they were a dreary time. Some got accused for things they should not have, and some for things they should have. The town of Salem was a cruel town all together, and accusations go on no matter if you are innocent or
