I believe myself to be a work in progress, as I get older I find myself wanting and desiring more out of life. Especially, when it deals with goals and objectives that can ultimately change my thought process. In order for me to achieve my set goals as well as achieve excellence I would have to change my current situations with family, education, work environment as well as on a personal note marriage. These entities provide stability and help me in moving forward in the right direction. There are so many factors in relation to achieving certain things and I believe that Peter Senge’s Five Disciplines help in achieving those measures. Ideally they relate to your very existence in effectively and efficiently carrying out those stepping stones towards gaining greater insight, a need to learn, understanding your surroundings, view points, and systematically understanding the measures of possibilities from within and in our daily lives.
Five Disciplines
Personal Mastery ideally is the spiritually mechanism that we have inside of us, personal growth is a strong entity to need and want. For me my personal growth would be to change my attitude towards certain things, learn from them and focus on being a better me in the process. This will allow me to be open to more things that will bring me ultimate joy. Becoming one with self, god, work, education, family and life helps me to achieve so much more than what it appears to be, happiness is something we inspire for and personal mastery is that for me, almost like connecting to my inner self. It also has been said that it is also legitimate to develop one’s own personal sources of power, such as one’s reputation, technical abilities, clear personal objectives, positive relationships with others, communication effectiveness, and self-confidence and optimism (Lynch, 1993, pp. 39–44).

Whether right or wrong, they inform the decisions and actions a person makes. The third discipline is shared vision, which is basically self-describing. As human beings it is necessary for one another to try and share the same goals and values (Model 1.3: Senge 's Five Disciplines, 2012). Team learning discusses using dialogue to work through difficult situations. The fifth discipline is the theoretical framework for using all the other four disciplines by looking for obvious patterns, and finding ways of improving on and making changes in those area. Personal mastery is a discipline of continually clarifying and extending our personal vision, of focusing our energies, of developing patience, and of seeing reality objectively (Model 1.3: Senge 's Five Disciplines,…

We all want something out of life and most of us have a plan for our lives and where exactly we want to be in 5, 10, or even 20 years. However, most of the time, those 5,10, and 20 year plans do not work out as we expected. We go through triumphs and tragedies; we grow and learn; and we eventually realize that what we have planned is probably going to change because we have changed. Over the course of my life, I have changed in a variety of ways and have overcame a number of challenges. I’ve made plans for my life and most of them did not work out, but looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.…

The main purpose of managing quality improvements is to set up a structure by which to measure how the organization is doing out in the public sector. We need a process in place that will drive our improvement efforts when less than optimal results are identified through undesirable trends and benchmarking. They need to be measurable and be the same for all patients in the survey area. This data will assist us in developing the measures necessary to improve performance standards. A team will be organized that will include the Executive Director of our local hospice as well as the Medical Directors (3), that drive our management force. Defining an action plan to implement proper and effective data collection for our Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program will entail establishing an overall goal first. This can be monitored regularly through weekly meetings of the team members to determine where they are in the process and what their findings have been so far.…

In my own experience of transformational change we’ll use my life from 18 to now. When I was young I had no direction in life I just wanted to do something not even knowing what. As I joined the Army I still didn’t have too much of an idea of what I wanted to do in life. I was just there because it paid the bills at first and gave me a place to live. I recognized that I still had a problem of not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. It was until I was in Iraq and I had to confront the fact that I didn’t want to always put my life in danger to make a living and support my family so I started planning intensely on finding a solution to my problem. As you now in life there are no easy fixes so I ended up going back to Iraq 4 more times before I came up with a solution. The solution I found was early retirement with all benefits go back to school to get my business degree. So now I had to integrate my new perceptive into my life plans. I put all my plans…

Being a teenager, I strive to be what I want and what i am supposed to be, beautiful and smart, a role model to others and a daughter that my parents would be proud of. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to achieve those that easily. Year after year we grow up shaping ourselves and being shaped by the world. That is because majority of our personality is shaped by nurture. It is the environment you grew up with and how you interact with people that help you adjust to what your character will be. Every day we communicate with others and in each interaction, we give meanings to things and sometimes adapt what others feel about it. We take time to think about what we would like to be. I often envision a person that is strong and independent as my role model and goal. It is true that when you are surrounded by people doing the same thing, you are most likely to adapt it. I am lucky enough to find friends that are focused on their studies enough to make it to scholarship and because i became a part of their group, i was inspired to be the…

    Excellence in Education

    • 2982 Words

The concept of excellence in education is one that, on the surface, seems to be unquestionable. After all, who would not accede that students within our schools should, in fact, excel? Certainly teachers, parents, and administrators can agree on excellence as an aim to shoot for. The interpretation of the term “excellence” is, however, less obvious. How do we regard excellence? Is it the college bound student with a broad liberal arts education? Is it the student who graduates high school trained in a specific trade? Many in the field of education cannot come to an agreement on how our schools can best achieve excellence for and from our students.…
