Acle

The Alternative Classroom Learning Experience of the University of the Philippines Diliman is one of the interesting events that the University offers its students. This is held every semester, by many organizations in UP. Each holds its own ACLE by giving students like me an afternoon free to attend cool discussions, lectures, and activities about academic yet not so generic topics such as love, the World Wide Web, crime, and lots more. This event becomes a yearly must for each Isko/Iska, though some students prefer to rest during the ACLE, nonetheless the event is successful every time. This semester, I found few choices compared to last semester’s ACLE which hosted even live shooting lessons. But still I found one suitable for myself. Ramon Bautista has become an icon specially for UP students as his YouTube miniseries ‘Tales From the Friendzone’ became a total hit. The semester I attended the ACLE that featured him. It was at the College of Business Administration scheduled at 2pm. I arrived late though at 2:30. As expected, the place was full. Many students also wanted to hear Sir Ramon’s lecture. He talked about college life issues. But mostly he let the audience ask questions, which he answered afterwards. The ACLE this semester was entitled ‘YOUth SPEAK! Youth Demands for the 2013 Elections’. Sir Ramon made the audience participate by playing games, where he gave away copies of his book Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo? as prizes. The discussion was very good, promoting communication within the audience made this ACLE a fun one, comparing it to the overgeneralized idea that ACLE’s are boring. For me it was time well spent, I’ve learned a lot specially the fact that everybody should be heard, and that communication is key to success. Best ACLE ever, hope this gets
