Overview:

I have been asked to implement a system design for Acme Manufacturing, linking all their computers to each other with a (WAN). The WAN network has all the features that all are used to in the current LAN. With the WAN network, employees are able to connect to another network remotely. As a system designer, it is my privilege to implement such a design. This document will show the design system in detail, with a follow-up section for someone that may have a system design question. I hope everyone will find this document informative as well as instructive.

Introduction:

In this document, I will be showing how simple and useful the WAN is. The WAN is used like the LAN that most are used to using now, but are unable to connect to another location thru the Internet. Security is a big concern to most companies so I will be examining this network design in detail with the (WTLS) Wireless Transport Layer Security. This safeguard protects against an attack by monitoring computers settings in and around the network. With Acme the company is based in various locations geographically and expanding I will be showing how this WANS operates.

Access to the company network will be secured by multiple firewalls set up with our routers. Firewall filters will be set up with a specific list of allowed users and programs. All other traffic will be blocked by default until it has been approved by IT. There will be a limited number of wireless access points around the building, with password access. These passwords will be changed on a regular basis. Access to the local network will be secured by user authentication passwords. Users will be limited to only the system resources that they absolutely need to complete their work. Users’ passwords must be changed every 90 days.…

The many complexities of network design are vast, wide and most often tailored to the customer and their uses. In the case of Kudler Fine Foods the network is the backbone of the company compromising the bulk of communications as well as the point of sale network. The design of these networks is a collaborative procedure aimed at ensuring that the services provided meet the needs of the customer. In the search of the ideal plan for network development I will discuss and explain principles of distributed and centralized computer systems. Accomplishing this by describing different network topologies; the standards and protocols that are essential to networking. The responsibilities essential in providing telecommunication services to include security, privacy, reliability and performance. How we distinguish and understand the uses of voice over the internet protocol, Centrex and other forms of telecommunications. With our main goal is to develop a system to utilize in our company that will ensure a proper management of our resources. The timeline for this is to have an implemented plan in place within 30 days of commencement. Our outline of six months to have the plan implemented is not outside the rational. Considering the internal and external resources implemented in the project.…

A wide area network (WAN) refers to the connection between two or more geographically separated LANS, such as the three locations of Kudler’s Fine Foods in different cities. As Kudler Fine Foods continues to grow the need for connectivity has increased. An enterprise network is required since these are networks that join the computing resources of an organization over LANs, WLANs, and WANs. All of these networks share basic building blocks in order to create the functional networks seen today.…

We show how incremental deployment of such routers can make the Internet safer. Like all things dynamic, change is inevitable. Such is the case with your network environment. Upgrades and modifications to the network architecture can sometimes expose, or create security holes. Hardening a network does not always mean spending large amounts of money. Whether that means spending it on new hardware, software, or man hours really depends on what needs to be addressed. It may include all of the above. The time may come when a cost/benefit analysis will be required by those in charge before hardening activities can move forward. As such it's important to point out some of the non-technical benefits of network hardening for the business as a whole.…

In this scenario I will be providing information associated with the creation of a WAN for ACME Manufacturing. This business has several locations spread out all over America and requires a WAN to connect their locations in America with their newly build plant in China. With the headquarters and engineering offices in Atlanta, which are right across the street from each other, the plan would make sense to connect all communication here. There are also distribution offices in New York, Chicago, and Phoenix which will have to be connected to this network to attend the weekly company meetings and have access to information stored at headquarters.…
