The song begins with a guitar playing three chords. After about seven seconds into the song you begin to hear the drums. The guitar and the drums begin to play a repeating pattern. The instruments work together to make a set of beats which complements the mood of the song. In the lyrics “I'm too depressed to go on/ You'll be sorry when I'm gone”, you are told that this person is depressed and does not want to live anymore. As the song continues, you get the idea that this person just wants to be alone. This is shown in the lyrics “I couldn't wait till I got home/ To pass the time in my room alone”. Although this may sound bad, it gives a sense of hope because the person is choosing to spend time alone rather than committing suicide. I feel that this song is important because it shows how a person struggling with suicide and depression feels. I have known many people who have struggled with depression and although I do not know exactly what they are feeling, I can get somewhat of an idea. The lyrics “The tour was over, we'd survived” put in a little of the bands spin on this whole idea of being depressed. What I interpreted from these lyrics is that they all have a hard time on tour because they never can see their family
