Adaptation Of Freak The Mighty By Rodman Philbrick
Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick is the story of two young boys. The movie, adaptation is titled The Mighty. There are much more than what I'm doing. There are many similarities between the book and the film including Max´s father coming back, Kevin´s death following max´s book, and Kevin also said he was going to be a robot. In the book, Max´s father kidnaps Max, against his will, and in the movie Killer Kane, Max´s dad comes and does the same thing. Killer Kane comes and take Max in the night and takes him to some old lady's house and ties Max up. While this was happening, Kevin notices that something happened because wasn´t home. After that Kevin sent out to save Max from the trouble, he had gotten into. After a while Kevin got the
cops to go to the room and catch Killer Kane red-handed, with his new squirt gun. All of this information is all very important because it was a big moment in the stories. In the movie, Kevin took Max to a building and said that the doctors inside were measuring him. Kevin said that this resulted in him getting a new body. In the end, Max was told that the whole new body story was a hopeful thought of Kevins. Because of Kevin knew that it was a matter of time before he passed and needed something to give him hope. In the book, the same thing happened, and Max believed the story and got mad when Kevin passed away. In both the movie and the book Kevin gets Max a notebook to write all of their adventures into. Max didn´t want to at first, but after Kevin had the seizure and ended up dying, Max caved. Freak the Mighty, in the end, was written by Max and the book was the notebook that Kevin gave Maz for Christmas. After Max wrote the book he said he might read a few now. When Kevin died, Max was devastated and wouldn't come out of his room. After a while, he wrote all of the adventures he had with Kevin and ended the story with him saying, ¨Now that I´ve written a book I might read a few.¨ The phrase shows that Kevin had a significant impact on Max. These paragraphs all show that there are many similarities in both the movie and the book.
