of healthcare organization focus on studying new and important innovations, which would help improve their decision making on different aspects. Essentially, an important quality of organization’s leaders is that they are hard-working and open-minded, which will affect the way they increase their leadership abilities. I think the senior leadership team and CEO must have impressive representatives who propose their ideas for health system groups.
The CIOs have increased their role in healthcare because of the widespread job openings that have overwhelmed organizations. In addition, maintaining strong, collaborative, and efficient relationships with other executive organizations is a top priority among panelists. The CIO should acquire skills that improve their technological knowledge, adaptable management, and positive relations with other organizations. Studies show that CIOs must demonstrate the ability to communicate with different social and ethnic groups. In this case, adapting to an organizations environment is essential to a successful system of survival. There will also be an evolution of an IT system that senior leadership roles are able to function in complementary positions.
Critical leadership promotes the understanding and process that individual leaders must develop a system that can acquire meaningful use of their organizations, so CIO positions must engage with other healthcare leaders and foster teamwork between healthcare providers as well as the changes in adaptive leadership.
Adaptive leadership provides new and different ideas, innovations, and improvements helping to foster a holistic successful blueprint for the organization. This type of leadership enables organizations to work comprehensively as it will facilitate the adoption of a comprehensive process, which includes a collaboration between individuals and teams at the frontline. The right CIO adaptive leadership would provide improvements and innovations whereby leaders would be able to compose useful information from their heart, not from their head. This is because organizations face many challenges and to truly figure out the solutions, healthcare providers and leaders need to devise organizational plans and communicate openly. It is imperative that healthcare organizations maintain good relationships with their communities as they establish a clear mission statement. I feel strongly that clear communication within healthcare organizations is very important, because they can demonstrate their core values through empirical experiences in the care and services in each of their individual healthcare …show more content…
organizations.
Relationships among employees, staff and clients, and CIOs must also have a positive impact on executive and leadership roles.
I believe this means that the CFOs, CEOs, CMIO, CNIO, and CTO’s must develop and improve the care in order to accomplish success. For example, Wager text also stated that “the CIO, CTO, CSO, and CMIO all play important roles in helping to ensure that information systems acquired and implemented are consistent with the strategic goals of the health care organization, are well accepted and effectively used, and are adequately maintained and secured.” This shows that the relationship between the CIO and the CMIO is important because CIOs might not know everything that goes on in the healthcare environment. On the other hand, the CMIO is highly aware of the collaborations and information that gets transferred through their system. Healthcare providers may be expected to create plans that can benefit patients as they develop opportunities for technological engagement. Patients should be given a path that leads them tin the right direction that best suits their individual needs. Basically, CMIO and CIOs may not advance the clinical perspective that patients face because of the necessary and costly to design methods, which would improve the effectiveness of their
systems.
However, finding the right CIO for the job may take multiple candidates because they may have different personalities and resumes. I believe this is because the CIO position, just like other positions, are not only evolving, but are also in need of a highly-qualified person for the job. Organizations acquiring the ideal CIO is crucial because of the vast amount of power they exert as they perform and establish the standards that their industry and organization desire. As Wager text mentioned, “having a CIO with strong leadership skills, vision, and experience is critical to the organization achieving its strategic IT goals.” The healthcare industry must implement complex technological infrastructures of their choice because it can ultimately lead to success when dealing with sick and ill patients. On the other hand, failures are not prominent but also isn’t expected when working in this industry because of the medical errors that could go wrong, which means that the right CIO must have the skills and understanding in order to be prepared. Hence, to be able to find the right CIO will not be easy and will take some time, but in the end, organizations can find the candidate that rightly fits their standards and needs, which would ensure a smooth transition for the CIO position.
Now, CIOs may be expected to be leaders who can develop and manage groups as they establish trust with employees and patients. Healthcare is a market that is forever changing and growing as the CIO position diminishes because of the lack of executive success. I believe that in the future, the role of CIO’s may become more and more competitive because the role may merge into other jobs or professions as it evolves. Thus, a recent HIHIM graduate needs to understand job expectations that may occur in the future because of the health information technology revolution that has managed to transform organizations and progress their management system. I strongly believe that technology would advance as the CIO role evolves to become a more common workforce in healthcare.
