Addiction To Disney Research Paper
My addiction to Disney was inevitable from the day I was born. Each of my parents went to Disney when they were younger and it served as a common bond between them. They got married at the Grand Floridian at the Walt Disney Resort and I have gone to Disney multiple times a year every year. I even took my first steps in Magic Kingdom. Growing up, Disney was a world of fairy tales. As I got older I soon realized there were real people behind it. I developed an interest in business as my family owns their own business. This led me to admire the way Disney was run. The company went from nothing to a known name in every household in the world. Under Eisner’s leadership alone it went from a 1.8 billion dollar company to a 100 billion dollar one. Having the opportunity to meet and listen to Michael Eisner, one of the people I admire most, was incredible.

In order to be successful one needs to stay inside the box financially, by sticking to budgets, and filling the box with creativity. The box adds a sense of practicality to the equation of running a successful business. As Eisner said, one must be practical or they will not survive in the business industry. Micromanagement is something I have always believed in. If one wants the big picture to come together, they need to make sure every piece is right even if that means stepping in yourself. I already have experience in micromanagement in school. I direct the morning news show at Lakewood Ranch High School. Before the show starts, I go through and make sure everyone completed their job and fix any mistakes that were made. This way I can assure the show runs as smooth as possible. I loved that fact that Eisner kept with Walt Disney’s view on micromanagement, keeping the true Disney experience alive. The way Eisner conducts himself and runs his business is the way I would like to run a future

There are always many sides of the story. People always tend to recreate their own story. Disney has been part of many childhoods. As I remember every kid wanted to be a prince or princess like the character of a Disney movie they watched. Disney was part of my childhood, it made me laugh, brought joy, sadness and memories I can never forget. When a Disney movie was on TV, I could not take my eyes off it. I had a set schedule from 6 pm to 8 pm in the evening was when the cartoons would be playing on a local channel. And they would always play a Walt Disney cartoon. My favorite was Pluto short films, because I always wanted a dog but couldn’t have one. Disney brought kids dream into a screen, created a character that reflects who you are.…

I strongly disagree with Fowls comments. He believes that Disney is taking over children's lives and that it reinforces a simplistic and narrow view of life. I do not believe that this is correct. Every little girl wants to be a beautiful princess and every boy, a big, strong man, who fights off the bad guys. These are just dreams though and we want to give our youth something to believe in.…
