Administrative Assistant Reflection
I hope all is well with you. Currently, I have a staff member on my team that serves in the capacity of an Administrative Assistant. She has been assigned with task that are apart of her job scope, however, she has failed to complete roughly 5 of those assignments. Unfortunately, she is out on leave due to death in her family. These assignments were given as early at 08/24 -08/30. She called out due to her family member's immediate illness on 09/01. Although, she has been out and I am sorry for her loss, I need to address the items that she has failed to complete timely.

Our department is extremely short staff and her lack of completing assignment places an abundant amount of strain on us to fill in and complete. Is there a proper counseling

This week our team agreed on a scenario and delegated who will do which parts of the Assignment. Communication was very effective for this assignment and we have no issues at this time. All members of the team were very considerate to the rest and communicated in a very timely manner, except for one team member that we have not heard from in the last two weeks. Time management seems to be going very smoothly as well. We feel that the rest of the team put forth a lot of work; however it is unfair that we have to split up another team members work between the rest of us, but we are confident that this will not affect how we perform as a team or the quality of our work. We agree as a team to have our portions of the assignment in by Friday October 3, unless an emergency situation comes up for one of us. This will allow time for editing if needed, and give Kamesha time to include all our references on the reference slide.…

Looking back on the course as a whole, I have learned how to effectively analyze my audience and distinguish and adapt my writing for that audience. I learned different ways to make technical documents look appealing to readers while also using graphics ad white space to effectively show the words of the documents. I learned how to work better in a team setting as well as improved my individual writing. My sentence structure and effectiveness has definitely improved over the semester as well. My thoughts about technical writing and technical documents wasn't changed much except for how much thought needs to be put into who the audience is and how to write specifically to that audience. Learning how to write memos effectively and just the general format for them will help me in the workplace. The help I received on my resume and cover letter during the course will help me tremendously getting into the workplace.…
