Furthermore, teenagers have higher stress levels than adults and the main reason seems to be school. High school is a time where teenagers struggle with issues such as grades, friendships, and self identification. In the United States stress levels in kids and teens in elementary through high school are rising and becoming an issue. An NBC news survey shows that out of a scale of 10 stress levels for teens are at a 5.8. This is higher than adults whose numbers are at 5.1. So much for a care free youth.
