Node
In communication networks, a node (Latin nodus, ‘knot’) is a connection point, either a redistribution point or a communication endpoint (some terminal equipment). The definition of a node depends on the network and protocol layer referred to. A physical network node is an active electronic device that is attached to a network, and is capable of sending, receiving, or forwarding information over a communications channel
Workstation
A workstation is a high-end microcomputer designed for technical or scientific applications. Intended primarily to be used by one person at a time, they are commonly connected to a local area network and run multi-user operating systems. The term workstation has also been used to refer to a mainframe computer terminal or a PC connected to a network.
Hub
A common connection point for devices in a network. Hubs are commonly used to connect segments of a LAN. A hub contains multiple ports. When a packetarrives at one port, it is copied to the other ports so that all segments of the LAN can see all packets.
Switch
A network switch is a computer networking device that links network segments or network devices. The term commonly refers to a multi-port network bridge that processes and routes data at the data link layer (layer 2) of the OSI model. Switches that additionally process data at the network layer (layer 3) and above are often called layer-3 switches or multilayer switches.
Router
Routers are small physical devices that join multiple networks together. Technically, a router is a Layer 3 gateway device, meaning that it connects two or more networks and that the router operates at the network layer of the OSI model.
Wireless device
A wireless network device can be best defined as a network device used to connect computers and computer hardware together without cables, normally through radio signals. The term "wireless network device" itself is very broad, and applies to a wide variety of different devices and technologies.

Local Area Networks (LANs) connect multiple computers that in a geographically limited area, this can be within the same room or building, to share information and resources. A LAN enables devices to communicate over a network with one another internally, otherwise known as an intranet. Each Kudler location would represent a LAN since each location has an internal network that is sharing local resources. The majority of LANs are connected using cables with copper or optics, but a network setup to communicate wirelessly is referred to as a wireless network.…

A wireless access point (WAP) is a device that usually connects to a router and acts like a switch. WAPs utilise wifi to connect to devices to allow communication between them. WAPs are used to extend the wireless reach of a network or to allow wireless access to that network.
