Adolf Hitler was the dictator of Germany from 1934-1945. He was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Inn, Austria. He was born to, father, Alois Hitler and, mother, Klara Hitler. He was the fourth of children born from Klara Pölzl and Alois Hitler. Three of his siblings died in infancy. Their names were Gustav Hitler, Ida Hitler, and Otto Hitler. Hitler's other siblings names were Paula, Angela, Alois Jr., and Edmund. Adolf’s brother Edmund died when from measles when he was 6 and when Adolf was 11. He became introverted and detached after his younger brother’s death.

Military Career
Hitler finally inherited the rest of his father’s property in May 1913, and moved to Munich. The German empire and Austria-Hungary had entered World War 1 in 1914. HItler was only 25 years old. So, Hitler requested permission to serve in the Bavarian army, Austria’s army at the time, and his permission was granted. But a report by the Bavarian authorities showed that Adolf failed a physical exam and was not suppose to serve in the Bavarian army. Hitler served in France and in Belgium. During the Battle Of Ypres, Hitler’s regiment was slaughtered. This caused him to withdraw from the remainder of the war.
Nazi Party Hitler joined the Nazi party in 1919, the same year it was founded. The party was founded by Anton Drexler. It was originally founded as the German Worker’s Party. Hitler became the leader in 1921. After Hitler became leader, he started giving speeches about unemployment and hunger in Germany. Hitler ran for chancellor of Germany in 1932. At the time, Germany was going through the Great Depression and with all the unemployment in the country he saw an opportunity. Hitler went up against 84 year old Paul Von Hindenburg. He lost,but later on, Hindenburg realized how many people were supporting the Nazi Party and he stepped down. Hitler became Chancellor on January 30, 1933. Immediately after he became chancellor, he began formatting a new police force in Germany called the “Gestapo”. He appointed Hermann Goering as the leader of it.
