The Adoption of Technology in Project Management
Introduction/ Thesis Statement:
1.0 “In the past decade, firms have turned to IT to achieve improvements in project performance” (Bardhan, et al 2007).
1.1 Organizations have adopted technologies to greatly influence efficiencies in project management by introducing more collaborative and software tools.
1.1.1 The advancement of technologies have developed computer-based information and communication technologies (ICT’s) to increase the efficiency in communication (Arnold & Javernick, n.d).
1.1.1.1 Managing projects are seamlessly easier with the use of information technology (Bardhan, et al 2007).
1.1.1.2 Project managers that adopt technology will be more effective in managing the overall project (Bardhan, et al 2007).

2.0 The advent of specific computer based information and communicational technologies in projects has enabled managers to continuously stay connected with their project team.
2.1 The increased effectiveness of communication will result in better overall coordination with project team members, thus increasing the likelihood of project success.
2.2 Collaborative tools creates more flexibility and allows for instantaneous feedback on project data (Bardhan, et al 2007).
2.2.1 Tools such as, Microsoft communicator, database discussions and other group servers will help ensure project teams are always connected (Bardhan, et al 2007).
2.2.2 Project success can only occur when there is project team motivation. This is in direct line with proper communication (Perumal & Baker n.d)
2.2.3 Project leaders use technology facilitation to improve their teams overall collaboration
3.0 Integrating technologies into the infrastructure of a project will empower project managers to efficiently handle multiple projects and increase overall project performance.
