Adult Learners

The article focuses on mature student programs at the secondary level being offered Adult Learners. Topics discussed include the key differences between many regular high school programs and adult high school completion programs, the role of mature student programs in high school completion and the challenges facing such programs. The importance of adult education programs to long-term poverty reduction strategies is also noted (Pinsent, 2015).
In reading this article I feel that I have a second chance on education being an adult and going back to school after a big gap in graduation from High School. I feel that I have develop the maturity and knowledge being an adult getting the experience as an adult working in the society has given me the opportunity to apply my learning into my studies and obtain a degree in the field of my choice. I have chosen to go back to school and obtain my degree for better opportunity in the job fields. I have learn that living in this society education is very important in order to obtain the salary that I wish to have. Going back to school will allow me to obtain the degree so that I will be able to obtain a good paying job to support my family.

I do agree about having the motivation to obtain the education is needed to complete the degree. Being a working adult will also have to have more motivation than anyone else. Adult learner will be more disciplined than a younger student, because of the maturity of being an adult learner. Adult learner knows what the society expect out of a good employee so being a adult learner has a little of advantage because of the experience of being in the society as a worker and knowing what is to be expected.
