Adult Nursing Personal Statement

A fascination in the health and more importantly how these individuals are given collective and intensive care within the framework of health and social care motivated my interest to be an adult's nurse. Adult nursing is a career that needs patience and empathy, and which could be especially rewarding in terms of the help I could give. It would give me the opportunity to study something that involves both academic and practical study, which I feel would suit me best. I feel that I am a responsible person at my age because being a young mum has made me mature with the following skills such as making sure that my child is fed, clean, healthy and also safe. However, I felt safe, reassured and trustworthy of the nurses because of the way they dealt with her and also us as a family; this experience has been a key factor in wanting to be an adult's nurse myself. Focusing on my studies, in college I studied health and social care. However, with the knowledge of combined subjects in this course, this has improved my knowledge in science, maths and also English. Every unit studied has an insight of very interesting topics of health care based career. A unit which I enjoyed was 'Anatomy and Physiology'. I find this unit really interesting as it talked about the organisation of living cells such as cells, tissues, organs and organ systems; also in this unit we looked at the blood flow and blood pressure and how this circulates in the body. This course has not only helped me have a great knowledge of independent learning in health and social care but it also showed how the human body functions.
