The coverage area of SOCOTECO II is located in the southernmost tip of the Philippines. SOCOTECO II is the sole electric provider of General Santos City since 1980. On May 7, 2007, 30 years after its creation, SOCOTECO II celebrated its pearl jubilee year. Truly, the Cooperative has undergone tremendous trials over the years yet it still continues to aim serving the people of SOCSARGEN, especially the least favored by providing electrification in far-flung areas. The relics of SOCOTECO II's contribution to SOCSARGEN go beyond what words may convey. The living proof of its contribution are the very lives of the people… transformed for the better, with SOCSARGEN molded to become one of the most competitive regions, not only in the Philippines but throughout South East Asia. Because of this, SOCOTECO II acknowledges the wholehearted support of its member consumers, who

We live in a world with freedom of speech and everyone is said to be treated equally. We have the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence which protects us. Even with that I believe that our society is not fair and just; as well as not as democratic as we like to believe. Thomas Jefferson, Cady Stanton, and John Rawls has different prospective of what a just society is. There are many phenomena that leads to the democracy’s potential for a lesser democratic institutions.
