(SOCOTECO II)
The South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SOCOTECO II) was organized & registered with National Electrification Administration on May 7, 1977 as the 84th electric cooperative by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 269, whose primary objective is to make electric service available throughout its coverage area. The coverage area of SOCOTECO II is located in the southernmost tip of the Philippines. SoCSarGen (South Cotabato, Sarangani & General Santos), has continuously rose in the economy ladder due its rich agro-industrial treasures, combined with rich soil, good rainfall and typhoon-free climate. It also boosts a good number of natural tourist attractions. SoCSarGen is located in the southern-most tip of the Philippines.
GENERAL SANTOS CITY
General Santos, being the key area for SOCOTECO II, is dubbed as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. It also accounts for the second largest daily total fish landings in the country. GenSan is a center of rapid industrialization, business and commerce while being only minutes away from beaches, crystal blue waters and swaying palms. SOCOTECO II is the sole electric provider of General Santos City since 1980. On May 7, 2007, 30 years after its creation, SOCOTECO II celebrated its pearl jubilee year. Truly, the Cooperative has undergone tremendous trials over the years yet it still continues to aim serving the people of SOCSARGEN, especially the least favored by providing electrification in far-flung areas. The relics of SOCOTECO II's contribution to SOCSARGEN go beyond what words may convey.
