Regiones et Partes Corporis
Linea mediana anterior/posterior:
● Vertical midline through the anterior or posterior aspect of the trunk.
Corresponds to the midsagittal plane.
Linea sternalis:
● An imaginary anterior vertical line passing through the lateral border of the sternum Linea parasternalis:
● An imaginary anterior vertical line located between the Linea sternalis and the Linea medioclavicularis.
Linea medioclavicularis:
● An imaginary anterior vertical line passing through the midpoint of the clavicle. Linea mammillaris:
● An imaginary anterior vertical line passing through the nipple. Often the same as Linea medioclavicularis.
Linea scapularis:
● An imaginary posterior vertical line passing through the inferior angle of the scapula. Linea paravertebralis:
● An imaginary posterior vertical line passing through the ends of the transverse processes. It is only visible on radiographs.
