Advanced Placement Classes

Since first offered, I have always pursued the most rigorous courses available to me. While these classes did not amount to much of a difference from the work of the standard classes, junior year of high school offered a new level of difficult courses. At my high school, junior year is the first year in which a student is able to enroll in Advanced Placement courses offered through the College Board. The teachers of these classes have a reputation of being the most difficult on campus, even creating a reputation of their extreme workloads and high standards in the neighboring high school. Regardless of their reputation, I enrolled in each of the Advanced Placement core classes. Though many advised not to take more than two A.P. classes, as
I would have no time to "relax" and would become "overwhelmed", I knew that these classes would offer me a new level of understanding myself and the world, in addition to that of the course work, that would simply be unobtainable in a standard classroom. Though the courses were difficult and the teachers were fitting of their reputation, I enjoyed the challenge that the course placed on me, as well as the high standards that the teachers expected of me. These classes have proven to me just how much I am capable of completing and how far I am willing to go in order to ensure that I produce work of a quality higher than expected. The limit to which I can no longer achieve more has yet to be discovered and may never be. I believe that the Advance Placement courses offer so much that I enrolled in additional courses as a senior in order to further my growth despite the difficulties.
