advantage and disadvantage of travelling by plane

Since the first flight of an airplane of Wright Brothers, the aviation has had a dramatic development. Nowadays, many people choose airplane instead of other modes of transports when they go for holidays, or for business activities and commercial purposes thanks to many advantages that such flights bring to. However, there are also disadvantages about this type of transport. This essay will present both some benefits and drawbacks of such flights.
First of all, the popularity of flying has good impacts on both local and global economies. The first reason why people prefer going by plane is time-saving. In the past, people could only use ships or cars to commute between great distance, especially to another continent, which took many days and months. Recently, thanks to flights network, all those difficulties have been solved easily. With the high speed, we can go across continents within twenty hours or fewer. Besides, the commercial transactions and business activities have been dealt more efficiently. Both producers and customers are satisfied with this mode because the good of the former can come to market more quickly, and the latter can use those products sooner. Such flight also plays an important role in import and export by making gross domestic good increase and solving the workforce problem.
On the other hand, the high number of flights causes the following negative impacts. An airplane consumes a larger amount of petroleum than other means of transportation. Worse still, the more fossil fuel consumed, the more pollution the environment will be suffered. Moreover, flights have been affected by many factors such as weather, security…Thus, scheduled flights have to be postponed or cancelled which causes inconvenience for passengers. Despite of highest speed and modern facilities of airplane, the high price of flight also make people hesitate when they want to travel by plane, so they have to choose another transport.
In conclusion, although such flights can increase Gross Domestic Product, save time and make people more comfortable when traveling,they also damages environment by exhausting fumes and making troubles when the flight was canceled or delayed. However, in my opinion, the advantages of using airlines still outweigh the disadvantages.
