In fact, we cannot live without electrical appliances that we call necessities and the television is one of them.Much has changed since the first television was invented - from black and white to colour televisions. For some, the television is a window to the modern world. By viewing the programmes that are aired on television, we can gain a lot of information and knowledge. Programmes like the National Geographic and Discovery can be used as an educational tool in schools and at home to teach our younger generation to love and protect our world. Besides that, television programmes can transport us around the world. We do not even have to leave that comfortable couch at home. After a hard day's work, most of us would be too exhausted to indulge in recreational activities. Television programmes can bring pleasure and fun into a viewer's boring life of all work and no play. We can also release our stress and pressure by watching television programmes such as cartoons and comedies. The television is also an advertising tool. Many of us come to know of new products that are in the market by watching television. Nevertheless, we must be wise when choosing a television programme. Some programmes that are aired may be unsuitable for general viewing as they may contain too much violence and bloodshed. Children who are under eighteen might be misled by these programme as they are easily influenced at this tender age. Many crimes that are committed by juveniles are believed to be caused by their excessive viewing of violent movies. Teenagers could get addicted to television viewing once they start using the television to play video games. As the result of that, they might neglect their studies and soon might be knocking on failure's door. Any couch potato can tell you that their eyes hurt after viewing television programmes

Television can have negative impacts on people, especially kids. Therefore, when watching television it may influence our fundamental social dispositions; no matter if it is good or bad. Almost ninety nice percent of households possess one television. Television is today’s source of news, stories, legends, and characters from previous centuries; the reason why it is so influential. Television (TV) is an inescapable part of modern culture. We depend on TV for information, knowledge, news and entertainment. It can be argued that TV has become an inseparable part of humans’ daily routine. With the recent explosion in satellite and digital specialty channels, it makes it even harder for TV to be separated from our lives as we now have access to a plethora of TV programmes which will enhance our lives in terms of entertaining us, informing us about up-to-date news and even learning more about the world we are living in. Yet, many people are very concerned with the negative influence of TV on us, especially our younger generation, due to the current trend of TV programmes which portray violence, sex and beauty as the norm we should embrace in our lives. These negative influences of TV have little value and hence do not contribute much to our lives. However, not all the TV programmes are of bad influence to our society. There are in fact a huge amount of TV programmes that promote and spread good values, making it worthwhile to watch TV programmes. Hence, I disagree with the statement and believe that there is more value in watching television today.…

Having your children close in age can have its pros and cons. When they are young, your life is very busy. Some people say it is harder than having twins because twins are always at a similar stage in life. They are in diapers at the same time whereas with two children close in age, one might be potty training while the other is still in diapers. Just as with twins they will both be drinking formula or learning to eat soft foods at the same time but those close in age might be at different stages so you are trying to bottle feed one while the other is learning to eat the soft foods.…

The direct influence of TV viewing on the extent of violence and deviant behaviour pattern of children has been reiterated – even in India. In fact, there are a couple of confessions by adolescents, even a biography, as to how they picked up ideas about a rape or robbery or revenge or killing or suicide or kidnap, etc from one or other TV programme. Even some court judgments have commented on such effect of TV programmes. That TV has a double-edged effect and that it is the negative character which impacts more than positive potential often is known. But what is not realized is that there are no serious efforts to explore positive virtues of TV and that parents who should be more concerned about such a phenomena hardly do anything about it.
