Advantage of using ICT as tool for teaching and learning process in higher education institution..

What is ICT?According to Oxford Dictionary ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology as is defined for “the study of the use of computers,internet,video and other technology ” (Mclntosh & Turnbull, 2005). ICT originally is applied to serve as a means of improving efficiency in the educational process (Jones and Knezek,1993) as cited in The Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology. ICT has become a very important part of the educational delivery and management process. Because of its interactive and dynamic nature, ICT has the potential to meet the need of individuals students by providing opportunities to direct their learning and to pursue information,complete task in way which meets their own interest and needs. The advantages of using ICT are teacher can easily explain complex instruction and ensure students comprehension, image can easily be used to improving retentive memory of students and teacher are able to create interactive classes and make the lesson more enjoyable which could improve students attendance and concentration.

One advantage of using ICT in education is image can easily be used to improving retentive memory of students. As cited in The Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology “improving efficiency in the educational process has been shown that the use of ICT in education can help improve memory retention, increase motivation and generally deepens understanding” (Dede,1998) . The use of various graphic illustration and what form of diagram is used to increase the effectiveness of learning. Another example,of multimedia such as video,audio and dynamic animation also can be an effective when mixed with text and graphic. In addition,using multimedia application in education results in the increasing productivity and retention rates because "People only remember 15 percent of what they hear,
