Secondary information - information already exists, already collected for other purposes.
The study is better to start with the collection of secondary data, because they serve as the starting point of the study, cheaper and more accessible. The secondary sources of information include:
- Internal data (the profit and loss account. The balance sheet reports, indicators of life, reports of previous studies);
- External data (publication of state institutions, books. Commercial information). Marketing research begins with the collection of primary data in the case where the secondary, necessary for the investigation, there is no data available or out of date.
The main sources of foreign secondary information include:
1) Reference books on the market situation, trends and challenges of its development;
2) Government regulations (documents), directly or indirectly affecting the state of the market.
