There are many advantages with being a military child. Some of these advantages are traveling, cultural experience, meeting new people, and education. Many military children move every two to three years from one place to another. Moving from place to place presents cultural experience such as learning a new language, trying new food, and meeting new people. Military children go through multiple challenges and some of them can be very difficult. We have to leave our old friends and make new friends every time we move. It gets hard to make new friends because new kids do not know if they will get accepted for who they are and are still worrying about their old friends. It’s hard for military kids to make civilian friends because they can’t relate to any of the traveling experiences military kids had. As a military child parents have to deploy because it’s their duty. The videos people watch online about their family members coming home are very touching. A movie called Lifted directed by Lexi Alexander is a movie about a boy named Henry, a middle school student in Alabama, who finds refuge in music after he is stuck living with his drug-addicted mother when his father is deployed to Afghanistan.
