Because the American colonists have received a lot of Advantages from Britain. They were receiving food, money, cloth, weapons and almost everything, from Britain.…
Some might say that the revolutionary war could have been avoided, if both sides had been patient and listened to each other, and this is true. But King George did everything he could to push America away. The primary reason the colonies revolted was taxation without representation. The crown refused to let the colonies have a voice in their own government, and that set off the revolution, because the americans had grown used to their freedom. It may seem like an extreme reaction, but…
They were able to discontinue Burgoyne’s original plan that involved invading New England in order to have control over where they believed the focus of the rebelling citizens was located, creating a turning point in the war. This also showed that the Americans were not messing around. They fought for their freedom and independence, letting nothing get in their way. This proved to everybody in the world that they were not going to give up. The British did have major advantages, including more men, money, and ammunition, but that wasn’t always needed to win the battle. American soldiers had a great boost in morale and hope from this win. They were able to see the image of an independent country much clearer by defeating the enemy…
If it wasn't for the colonists spirit, they would have never won. A lot of the reason why the British didn't win even though they had the best military/navy in the world was because they had no motivation to win. Most of the soldiers didn't really care about the American territory and the British had problems in other parts of the world they…
In the previous 100 years, the British had enjoyed victory after victory in all the wars they had been engaged in. Their superiority was confirmed after defeating great nations like France and Spain which made its military the best in the world. The British had the urge to spread their dominance and so they extended their rule to the American ground. The Americans were on the losing end from the first time the war was declared, but an alliance with France strengthened its position and having the advantage of the war being fought in their backyard, they were able to defeat the British in a costly war for both nations.…
Britain recently had defeated Napoleon by combining forces with Russia and other countries, and momentum in war seemed to be going their way. Also, by ending the Napoleon era, Britain had the full amount of troops to send to America. These British troops were also experienced in fighting against Napoleon, and the American militia would most likely be an easy feat. The British were also the worlds largest world empire with a rather large treasury. Americas navy at the time was in very bad condition and consisted of only 7 seaworthy ships versus the British 1048 warships. Last but not least, the Americans were just not prepared to fight the war. Their force consisted of only 7,000 soldiers, their military supplies were very low and they couldn’t purchase any due to being in debt. Inexperienced leaders caused for poor management of troops on the battlefield, and the average soldier was not prepared for the hardships of war, and without training, they were not as good as the experienced…
The Revolutionary War was not a war that was fought just to show the British what the colonials were capable of. It was fought to earn our independence and freedom from the unfair British rule. We knew that we did not want to live like that anymore, so we fought as hard and strategically as we could and in the end won the war and our independence. There are three main reasons why the Colonials won the Revolutionary War. The first reason is that leading up to the war, we boycotted all kinds of British goods to show them that we still held some form of power while under their control and would not stand to be taxed unfairly.…
The revolutionary war was not truly revolutionary because of these reasons. Men were painted playing sport, instead of seeking progress. These same men disregarded the Native Americans and gave no deserving respect; after it all, it was their home. Not much had changed except the land of free people being taken. The Legislatures were busy swimming in their money pile before and after the war. Their Revolutionary War seemed only efficient in taking over the land of…
The British should not have even had the war to begin with. There are a few commonsensical reasons why the war could, and even should, have been avoid. The entire Revolutionary War could have been avoided if the British had just given the colonists a seat in parliament. In the beginning, the colonists were protesting against being taxed without having any representation in parliament. The colonists also did not like the fact that they where being forced to house British troops in their homes. If parliament had stopped housing British troops in colonist's houses, many conflicts…
The Revolutionary War was a tragic and painstaking war fought between America and Great Britain from April nineteenth, 1775, to September third, 1783. The main conflict was over America’s longing for independence, and Britain denying them of this freedom. Even though Britain was at the height of its power, and the United States had a ragtag army and limited resources, America was the unlikely victor. While Britain appeared to have the upper hand, America had a few unpredictable advantages. First of all, allies such as France and Spain aided them on many different grounds that pulled them to victory. Strength was also found in the leadership from the generals, particularly George Washington.…
From the beginning of the Revolutionary War it seemed like a dead give away, most assumed the British were going to win because they not only possessed the largest navy in the world, but one of the strongest; on top of that they were working with a well established and organized military with some of the most experienced generals of their time. But these advantages seemed to have no impact on the 13 colonies whom had the desire and…
What were the American advantages in the Struggle, and why was George Washington selected as the best person to make the most of these advantages?…
Although the American’s had been “independent” from the British since the end of the Revolutionary War, the British continued to harass and mettle in American affairs. While Madison was seeking reelection the War Hawks in Congress had declared war on Britain in June 18. On paper the rag-tag American was seen as incapable of defeating the superior British forces for a second time. However this war would have an unexpected results as neither side would be the “victory”. Even the United States wasn’t able to gain any new territory to their growing collection and the borders were returned to the way they had been (status quo antebellum), Americans were able to declare victory in the War of 1812 because they were able to enter a period of economic independence from the world (Europe) which carried on to the Era of Good Feeling as well as hold its own against what was concerned the strongest fighting force in the world at the time.…
In addition they began to attack cities instead of forts. The British colonies soon won the war with the Treaty of Paris. The French were incredible and favored victors at the beginning of the war in the Americas. They had a centralized military organization, skillful leaders who ruled with absolute authority, and soldiers inured to war.…
The effects on America from the revolution were liberty, freedom, and self government. It made a huge impact on the society today. The Americans would not have as many rights today without the war. Pros of the American Revolution we have freedom, liberty, and a self-government. Because of the people who fought in the war had a lot of dedication and motivation. If we would not have had the war, we would not have influenced England to give our country more rights. “Once more we are again collected and collecting our new army of both ends of the continent recruiting fast, and we shall be able to open the next campaign with sixty thousand men, well armed and clothed.” by, Thomas Paine. Nations last support/ motherland/ homeland security has been taken.…
