The music of Cuba has an enormous African and European influence. One of the main musical fusions in Cuban music is the son. Other typical Cuban forms are habanera, guaracha, danzón, rumba, bolero, chachacha, mambo, cha-cha-cha, punto and many variations on these themes. Cuban music has been immensely popular and influential
in other countries. It was the original basis of salsa and contributed not only to the development of jazz, but also to Argentinean tango, Ghanaian high life, Afrobeat West Africa and Spanish flamenco flamenco. Cuban music in modern times has a huge influence on the music industry in many other countries.
Traditional Cuban dances have been influenced by European dances. For example, cha-cha or mambo originated in European dances. Cuban music and dance played a great role in the invention of salsa dance. With rich music beautiful dances were created. The salsa was created in New York but was influenced by dances and Cuban music. He exposed Cuba's culture to the United States. Ballet was also created in Cuba. The world's largest ballet school is located in Cuba.
Cuban cuisine is a blend of Taino Native American cuisine, Spanish, African and Caribbean cuisine. Some Cuban recipes share spices and techniques with Spanish and African cuisine, with some Caribbean influence on spices and flavor. This results in a unique, interesting and tasty blend of diverse cultural influences, with strong similarities with the cuisine of the neighboring Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Traditional Cuban foods consist of a lot of rice and beans. When cooked together the recipe is called "Congri" or "Moors" or "Moors and Christians" (black beans and rice). If it is cooked separately it is called "Rice with / and Beans". A very healthy and delicious meal.
To historical associations with the United States, many Cubans participate in sports that are popular in North America, rather than sports traditionally promoted in other Latin American nations. Baseball is by far the most popular; Other popular sports and pastimes include boxing. Sports are very important for the Cuban people. They think of sport as the right of the people to express themselves. Many people enjoy playing and watching sports.
This is the rich and unique culture of Cuba. Although it is made up of many different influential countries, the Cuban people added some things to make it theirs. Their dances created from special music and other dances as a combination. Foods are rich in flavor and protein. Sports are influenced by the United States but they enjoy it as one of their own. That is what makes Cuba a unique and special country.
