Not long after the death of Mr. Maloney, Ms. Maloney had given birth to their child, or may I say children, she had given birth to twins. When she looked at them she saw her only reason to keep on going on, her children. Soon after her son and daughter were born she debated if she should turn herself in or if she should continue to hide the truth and raise her children. She had eventually made her choice, she wanted to raise her kids. She knew it’d be difficult to be a single mother and raise her two children, but she didn’t care; She was determined to give her children the best life they could ever have. She didn’t know it now, but her children would eventually lead to her own demise.

Ms. Maloney didn’t care that she had gotten an innocent man arrested, she had her children and that’s all she needed, but ever since that day she’s had awful nightmares of her murdering her husband, she feared she was going insane. Her children were 16 and she wanted to confess once they turned 18, but she no longer wants them to know the truth. She doesn’t want her children to think she’s a monster, she loved them so dearly, she did all of this for them. “I can do this, I need to do this…” she’d tell herself, attempting to pull herself together even though the guilt felt like it was consuming her. She got up from her seat to help him out. “Cole, honey, how was school…? And where’s your sister?” He sat down his bag on the floor and sat on the couch next to his mother. “School was fine, and Violet wanted me to tell you that she’s going out with some friends and will be home late.” Ms. Maloney made a humming noise in response. “I’m going to go to my room and do my homework.” “Okay.” Ms. Maloney turned on the television and sat there. She thought about how Cole is beginning to look more and more like his father, and how Violet is growing up and hanging out with friends. She loved them so dearly, she killed her husband and told no one, just for them to live. She went into a trance like state, and reenacted the scene in her mind, she felt like she was actually in the memory, she saw her husband, she had a weapon, but this time it wasn’t a leg of lamb… it was a knife, but she continued on, she saw her husband in front of her, he turned around and looked terrified. Ms. Maloney was so confused, this wasn’t how she
