Influences of public school In the story “Against school: How public education cripples our kids, and why” the author, John Taylor Gatto, establishes the idea of how public education can lead to a negative impact on students.     Educational programs demand effort and dedication to be successful. Barber expresses his concern for the lack of literacy in America.
