The case of Mathew Koso indicates that he was jailed for between 18 and 30 months because of having premarital sexual affair with a minor. The accused sparked a relationship with the girl when she was only 12 years and married her when she was 14. At that time, the marriage was legal, but the attorney general of the state of Nebraska found the affair illegal, sentencing Koso to the specified jail term. This decision is plausible for two reasons.…

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow written by Ivring was a very interesting story that is well known around the world today. The movie was far more entertaining than reading the book If I must say so myself. Tim Burton gave a new spin to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I myself have always enjoyed anything written or directed by Tim Burton because of his sense of horror and his creative abilities. The characters are redefined even though Tim Burton strays away from the book and put his own ideas into what should happen in Sleepy Hollow, because of this the story is altertered and more lifelike and connectable. Bron who was very important in the book is even hardly recognized in the movie even though he was willing to give his life for his love Katrina. Bron who actually did give his life for Katrina in the story is horribly overlooked in the movie.…

Impact on internal and external stakeholders When it comes to the impact of this negligent event, it is needless to say that the child, Courtnie Williamson, suffered the worse consequences of all, she will be affected physically, emotionally, and intellectually for the rest of her life; with therapy and willpower she might be able to recover to a certain extent, but there is no certainty on the success of any treatment. This negligent act limited the future of this child and the way that she might be productive and contribute to society; just as important are the enormous consequences for the parents. As much as the courts insist that the parent-child relationship does not have the same dependency as the child-parent bond, there is going…

After reading Phillip Jenkins’ article from Nerve.com, I am appalled that there are sick people in this world who actually enjoy “kiddie porn.” I have heard some horrible stories, but nothing quite like what Jenkins has mentioned in his article. Jenkins states, “if sexual fantasies, however grotesque, however unhealthy, can be made illegal, none of us are safe.” Jenkins cites specific examples such as videos of “kindergarten girls masturbating and giving blowjobs to adult men” along with many other examples to help support his thesis.…

When walking down the street there is an eight-year-old sitting on the side of the street crying, with dirty, ripped clothing. The young child is nothing but skin and bones from not eating for a week. If there was not a set age for becoming an adult this would be a common scene. The law recognizes an 18-year-old as an adult. If there was not a set age for adulthood, parents could stop caring for their children at young ages. The law requires parents to care for their children up to the age 18. If adulthood was recognized based on maturity, a parent could say their kid was mature at age eight. Yet, the kids aren’t allowed to work until age fourteen. This could leave the kids in starvation, and critical life situations. Therefore, kids become…

What is the difference between an action and a porn movie? They are both something you can rent, buy , watch , they both come in the same video formats. Thus the key difference that deferentiates pornography is its content – sex. Sex is something that is absolutely normal , and actually is the main drive behind the human evolution. Human beings are aware that except for reproduction, sex is also something that brings pleasure and is one of the basic human needs. Than what defines a pornographic movie is that first of all it is a movie(its format) and second of all it has content (sex). Therefore if movies are morally accepted in the society, and sex itself is also a normal event between two(or more) human beings , combining two “moral” statements should bring us a conclusion that pornography is moral. Pornography is a product of choice. The increased demand for pornographic movies is picturing quite vividly that people choose to watch porn on their own will, and thus there is nothing immoral in it. Pornography as a job is also usually a personal choice and thus in the whole process of creating an adult movie all the parties are willingly consenting to participate , which again is not immoral because every person is entitled to the right of his or her own body.…

When talking about social stigmas and social problems dealing with pornography most people tend to talk about those who purchase or watch pornography. Those social problems could include the underage watching of porn, the fact that it can lead to a desensitization of sexual human contact, and the more aggressive and negative outlook toward women. However, there are several problems dealing with those involved in the…

One of the main risks of using the internet is that children may be exposed to inappropriate things such as pornography or other illegal or age inappropriate information that encourages activities that are dangerous. Over the last couple of years, the very serious problem of rape culture has come into the national focus, and frank conversations are being had about sexual consent. To this end, programs have been popping up in schools (both in college and the lower grades) that seek to educate students about the concept of consent and why it is necessary for all sexual encounters. In an effort to explain sexual consent to the broader public, several writers and artists have created metaphors (a few of them becoming viral online pieces) that try to explain sexual consent and why it is vitally important. But the reality is we need to stop using metaphors to talk about sexual consent because they're actually doing more damage than good.…

The majority of today’s society views sexual relations between an adult and a child to be disgusting and wrong. Let alone a relationship between one’s own kin. Although in the past children were married at younger ages to adults, generally young girls to older men, most societies have casted aside these traditions and instead deem it as taboo and illegal. Children who are exposed to sexual activities are more likely to have long term negative effects psychologically rather than physically. The clear cut definition of child sexual abuse is an adult using a child for their own sexual gratification. Furthermore, a child can also experience sexual exploitation where the child does not necessarily have genital contact but are involved in child pornography or observes a sexual act being played out. There are many other terms that are used to describe child abuse such as; molestation, victimization, assault, and rape. Children who are raped are descried as having the perpetrator intrude an aperture of the child’s body by using any part of their body to do so. Though even with these definitions it is difficult to determine certain acts sexual abuse, for instance when it is not okay for a parent to bathe with their children. Lastly, there are two different types of sexual abuse that are termed using the perpetrator. Interfamilial abuse, another word for incest, is a child being abused by a person that is related by blood or…

The moral argument must be addressed before an examination of the effects of pornography usage. Pornography usage cannot be rightly argued as morally bad/evil. For an action to be classified as morally evil, there must be proven, an initiation of force. By this definition, it is easy to see why one cannot paint all pornography, everywhere with the same broad brush. A mutually consenting adult couple filming their private acts and distributing them can scarcely be lumped into the same category as child pornography. Even if we look at the usage of morally neutral pornography, can we equate somebody consuming it once a week to someone consuming it once a day?…
