After 30 minutes of visually inspecting the Agena to make sure that it had not been damaged by the launch, they were given the go for docking. Armstrong started to move towards the Agena at 3.15 inches (8 centimeters) per second. In a matter of minutes, the Agena 's docking latches clicked and a green light indicated that the docking had been successfully completed. "Flight, we are docked! Yes, it 's really a smoothie," Scott radioed to the ground.
Emergency[edit]
There was some suspicion on the ground that the Agena 's attitude control system was acting up and might not have the correct program stored in it (this suspicion was subsequently found to be incorrect). Just before they went off contact with the ground, the crew of Gemini 8 were informed that if anything strange were to happen, they were to turn off the Agena.
After the Agena began execution of its stored command program, which instructed the Agena to turn the combined spacecraft 90° to the right, Scott noticed that they were in a roll. Armstrong used the Gemini 's OAMS thrusters to stop the roll, but after the roll stopped, it immediately started again. Gemini 8 was out of range of ground communications at this

The miss-communication affected lack of communication involving the Thiokol engineers and the NASA technicians; since the Thiokol engineers did not pass the required piece of information to NASA’s appropriate persons (Raval, 2014). The single-chain of command in the management structure failed to maintain communication movement that was necessary, as the technologists can just speak to their very own managers and the info was not correctly delivered. The technologists of Thiokol were not able to convince the management board to understand the need for the O-ring issue. The engineers of Thiokol were not enabled to have conversation with NASA people so the significant information wasn't shared properly. Thiokol, under pressure gave approval to launch and unperceived to all the challenger was headed for disaster. Due to technical and management issues the program was ground until the proper changes were made to ensure a safe operation of…

The NIBRS does appear to be the most comprehensive set of statistics regarding crime, as it gathers information about the entirety of a crime, including perpetrator and victim. However, as Fagin states in the textbook, the NIBRS currently only accounts for roughly sixteen percent of crime statistics collected by the Uniform Crime Report. This is primarily due to the fact that there is no mandate for agencies at any level of law enforcement to report to the NIBRS. Eventually, that number will probably rise, but, we all know how fast policy changes are implemented; it is usually a painfully slow process. Additionally, you provide an excellent reason as to why the changeover is an incredibly slow process; cost. Enforcement officials…

On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched the first satellite into space, The Sputnik I. This was detrimental to the U.S. because it meant that they were losing the space race. The Soviets showed the U.S. that they now had the capability to launch satellites and nuclear warheads into space. America quickly answered back with the launch of Explorer I, which was the first American made satellite to orbit around Earth. This achievement by the U.S. led Eisenhower to form the National Aeronautics and Space Admission (NASA). The organization was founded to study and build space exploration vehicles and scientific experiments. Soon after the formation of NASA, the Soviets launched the first man into the orbit of Earth, heating up the space race. Nearly a month later, NASA launched Alan Shepard into space, making him the second man to exit Earth’s atmosphere.…
