Sometimes, we notice that some society issues and stories are given lots of attention some other stories are being avoided. However they are equally important. The policy which decide which issue is important and which is not important is called agenda setting.
It is the function of Mass Media and was firstly introduced by Maxwell McCombs and Donald Shaw in 1972.
Definition of Agenda Setting
Agenda setting is the theory that says media authorities decide which issues are important and can become topics of discussion in the public. And, they are perceived by society as important and urgent.

Since the independence of Pakistan, Our Media has not been as stronger as compared to the today’s world, Although we had too many issued, but we had not enough resources to set agendas. In other words, we can say that there was monopoly of some media authorities.
