the Soldiers in this unit. I believe it’s an honor to hold this position and that it comes
with a great deal of responsibility. I am sharing my leadership philosophy and vision so
you can better understand my values and expectations. My intent is for our full time
staff to work together as a cohesive team in order to achieve amazing results.
For any leadership philosophy to work it must be lived daily. The TPU Soldiers
see us as role models for acceptable behavior within the unit. We cannot have
selective standards them and another for ourselves. Basic Solider standards should
apply to everyone. We should lead by example every day of the week, not just during …show more content…
battle assembly or annual training events. We, as full time staff, should always set the
example that we want others to emulate.
I value hard working team members who are willing to do whatever it takes to
accomplish the mission and never say, “that’s not my job.” As AGR Soldiers we have to
wear many hats help wherever needed.
I have great respect for those who use all
available resources to solve problems and find creative solutions. Integrity and
discipline are also essential. We have a huge amount of freedom in our positions. It’s
important we do the right thing and always take care of Soldiers. It’s our responsibility
to do what is right, not just what is easy.
Effective two-way communication is critical for our success. I will make sure you
know what my priorities are and what I am working on and I expect you to do the same.
It’s also important that we consistently communicate with the TPU Soldiers so they are
informed and involved. I believe in proactive communication. I try to push information

out quickly. We have to be ready, willing, and able to act fast so our Soldiers do not
miss opportunities. I strive to always provide a timely response to the command team,
our Soldiers and higher commands.
My priorities include making the 909 HR CO the best organization it can be
and
giving our Soldiers every opportunity for success. In today’s operating environment we
need to be ready to go to war tonight. We need to be tactically and technically proficient
as well as physically and mentally fit.
Physical fitness is very important to me and it’s a requirement for service in the
US Army. As AGR’s we are afforded time for physical fitness during the work day and
there is no excuse for not taking advantage of it. We truly need to set the standard for
the organization. The TPU Soldiers who see us at battle assembly recognize we are on
duty every day and our fitness level and professionalism should reflect that.
I expect myself and others to live the Army values. We need to recognize our
personal strengths and weakness and be open to feedback and continued self-
development. I believe in being fair, flexible, and treating everyone with respect
regardless of rank or position. Every Soldier in this organization is our customer and we
will provide outstanding customer service. I believe it’s a privilege to be an AGR
Soldier and because of this, we must maintain Army standards and lead by example.
